My Light

Oblivious to the world around me
Holding on in quiet desperation
Trampled under my reflections
Unable to break the silence

Round, the same thoughts fly
Lonely images of waiting
My light is departed
Renouncing me to the darkness

What was warmth and hope has vanished
The light consumes itself
Barely a flicker
Strong gusts have made faint

Peering into the darkness, I stand guard
Yearning to catch a glimpse
The light’s promise of return
To cease my blinded wanderings
